With assisted telemedicine, onsite staff at Medcor clinics, such as registered nurses, facilitate virtual patient encounters with advanced providers (doctors, PAs, and NPs) through the assistance of high-definition telecommunications software and digital medical devices.
Assisted telemedicine expands the number of conditions that can be diagnosed and treated onsite. Devices such as digital stethoscopes, otoscopes, and blood pressure monitors stream real-time health data from the patient to the physician. The virtual provider is then able to conduct a sophisticated evaluation through an electronically-transmitted physical exam; the virtual provider can also read the results of point-of-care CLIA-waived lab tests to get an accurate overall picture of a patient’s general health.
Follow-up appointments facilitate return-to-work clearances for injuries and illnesses.
All findings are documented in Medcor’s electronic medical record (EMR), allowing for e-prescribing and scheduling of follow-up appointments. Because data captured in the EMR is linked to Medcor’s client portal, you can use this data for injury trend analysis and reporting.
