What is an Occupational Health Clinic?

    By Danielle Olipra | Insights | Comments are Closed | 29 September, 2022 | 0

When an employee is injured they don’t always know where to go for the appropriate care. Having convenient care for work-related injuries and illnesses eliminates confusion and gets injured employees the right care, at the right time and in the right place. This saves money on unnecessary emergency care and workers’ compensation claims. Providing health services for employees at an onsite medical clinic improves employee health and satisfaction.

What Services are Offered at an Occupational Health Care Clinic?

Medcor’s onsite clinics provide medical care for workers injured on the job and other occupational health services including drug and alcohol testing, immunizations, diagnostic tests and health screenings, physicals, and telemedicine support.

Offering occupational health services helps manage an employee work injury from initial treatment to returning to work, and helps avoid unnecessary care and claims. When referrals are necessary, Medcor navigates patients through provider selection and the traditional healthcare system to ensure the best health outcomes and the most savings by avoiding unnecessary workers’ compensation claims.

    Occupational Medicine

Occupational medicine is medicine focused on care for work–related injuries. Medcor delivers occupational medicine services through onsite clinics, injury triage, and telemedicine.

    Physical Therapy

Physical therapy appointments are often prescribed after an on-the-job injury to stretch and strengthen the injured area for a safe return to work.

    Injury Care

Occupational health clinics by Medcor offer convenient care for work-related and non-work-related injuries.

    Physical Exams

Providing physicals for employees ensures the health and safety of a workforce. When employees have a convenient and familiar place to go for medical care, it empowers them to take care of their own health.

    Medical Specialists

Medcor’s medical specialists are health advocates without conflicts of interest. Providers include physicians (MD and DO), PAs, NPs, RNs, and EMTs and paramedics.

    Telemedicine

Optional telemedicine services from Medcor give you access to Medcor physicians even when you don’t have one onsite at the clinic. This results in the best physical recommendations for injured or ill patients.

    Tests & Screenings

Employees can be screened for chronic illnesses and tested for COVID-19 at Medcor clinics. Tests like x-rays and EKGs can help diagnose employees.

    Immunizations

Occupational health clinics by Medcor can offer immunizations including the COVID-19 vaccine and annual flu shots. An immunized workforce misses fewer days of work due to illness.

    Partner with Medcor
